Ogun state governor gifts LASU best graduating student a house and N2 million

The 2020 overall best graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU), Oladimeji Shotunde, an indigene of Ogun state, has been gifted a two-bedroom bungalow and the sum of N2 million by the Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun.

The governor made the announcement during the celebration of Ogun academic laureates 2021, held at the Obas Complex, Abeokuta, on Thursday, April 22.

Recall that the 22-year-old son of a mechanic broke the university’s 37-year record after emerging as the Overall Best Graduating Student of the 2018/2019 academic session, with the highest CGPA (4.95) in the University’s history. 

The governor also gifted Ademola Adeeko, of Baptist Boys High School, Abeokuta, winner of the 2020 African Union Continental Teacher’s Award, a two-bedroom bungalow. Governor Abiodun further announced that the state government would also set up an education endowment fund for Faith Odunsi of the Ambassadors College, Ota, in Ogun, winner of the Global Open Mathematics Tournament.
