Obafemi Awolowo University - OAU Loses Accreditation On Four Major Courses

Credible report reaching us has it that OAU (Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, Osun State, has lost its accreditation for 4 major courses in 3 basic faculties.

The exact reason for the dis-accreditation for now is yet to be verified.

The four faculties included, Faculty of Law, Sciences and Basic Medical Sciences and the courses are as follows;

1. Law

2. Dentistry

3. Medical Rehabilitation

4. Botany.

The above courses have been suspended by the National Universities Commission and until the reason for the dis-accreditation is resolved, candidates are advised against choosing the courses.

It was gathered that a message has been sent by JAMB to candidates who applied for the affected courses in the 2018 JAMB UTME to change their courses or institutions.

The affected students received the message in quote “Your first choice course did not receive accreditation. Login to your profile and change course/institutions.”

Reacting to this, OAU spokesman, Mr Abiodun Olarenwaju truly confirmed the report but was quick to add that concerted efforts are being made to sort out the issue latest by September, 2018.
