Programme Duration: Depending on your existing qualifications, the training programmes are available in one or two calendar year formats, commencing in September 2024.
Entry Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- West African School Certificate/GCE “O” Level, or Senior Secondary School Certificate (NECO) with five credits in not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Professional Qualifications and Experience
For the One-Year Programme:
- Qualified as a Community Health Extension Worker.
- Possess a First Degree in Community Health Science, Health Education, Public Health or an HND in Community Health.
- Must be registered with the Community Health Practitioners’ Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) and possess a current practicing license.
For the Two-Year Programme:
- Diploma in Community Health.
- Community Health Extension Workers Certificate with 5 years’ experience.
- Registration with CHPRBN and a current practicing license are required.
Selection Process
Admission into these programmes is competitive and will be determined by your performance in both a written test and an oral interview scheduled for Monday, 8th and Tuesday, 9th July 2024.
Important: Candidates must bring their original certificates and practicing licenses to the examination centre.
Application Method
Start Date for Application: Monday 5th February 2024
Application Fee: N10,000.00, payable via the REMITA platform to OAUTHC School Account (Account Number: 0280190665014, GIFMIS code: 1000277586) at any commercial bank.
After payment, you are to bring the evidence of payment to the school to collect the admission form.
Application Deadline
Completed application forms, endorsed by sponsors and accompanied by photocopies of relevant credentials, should be submitted to the School of Community Health, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, no later than Friday, 28th June 2024.
