The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, in a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to the university council, D. O. Awoyemi, has temporarily closed down the institution following the persistent protest by the students of the institution.
According to Awoyemi, this is as a result of the incessant disruption of normal academic activities and the peace on campus by the students.
Consequently students are advice to vacate their Halls of Residence not later than 12 noon on Thursday, 19th June, 2014.
It would be recalled that the management of the institution recently increased the tuition fees which attracted protest from the students.
