In an effort to generate its own electricity, the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife has continued the project to generate 8.0 megawatts of electricity for the institution using technology and equipments from Sterling and Wilson Cogen Solutions LLC (SWCOGEN).
SWCOGEN, an organization that provides end-to-end solutions for Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and alternative energy applications has over 1800 MW of installed gas and biomass based power generation projects worldwide and equipment from the power generating organization was seen arriving campus on Saturday, 26th September 2020.
This is an indicator to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede comitment to reducing energy costs in the institution.
