After a lengthy meeting the Senate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, finally came to the conclusion as regards OAU resumption date for fresh and returning students. Please note that this resumption is for 2024/2025 UTME students.
In addition to the above, the Senate has approved the resumption date for the new calendar of 2024/2025 academic session. The resumption date for all students irrespective of the level have been listed below.
OAU Resumption Date for Fresh & Returning Students
The university management hereby informs all students that the University will resume normal academic activities with effect from 8th January, 2024.
Other students in other faculties and in 300 level below who were asked to receive their classes virtually are to follow suit and resume alongside other students for the start of the 2nd semester 2024/2025 academic session.
After 8 months closure of the school, the management has announced that all students resume as stated above and lectures will commence in the coming days.
It also added that any student, who is still illegally occupying any room within the University halls of residence, would be viewed to have violated his/her matriculation oath, and such a student will be sanctioned appropriately.
This is to give enough time for proper repair and comprehensive renovation of all the halls of residence in order to make it more comfortable for the students.
Parents and Guardians are hereby enjoined to take note of the new date and prepare their children/wards for resumption accordingly.
