NYSC Member Transforms Old & Abandoned Health Center

A member of the National Youth Service corps in Kwara State has received kudos and praises of a community in Kawara State after he renovated the dilapidated and abandoned health centre located at his place of primary assignment.

The corp member, Olayemi Ajibola E was said to have initiated the renovation of the abandoned Tepatan Health Centre in Kwara state, the only Primary Health Center in Oyun, Moro Local Government Area.

The health centre, which had been abandoned for over two years but was still running despite lack of basic hospital amenities. According to the health centre’s head nurse, pregnant women still gave birth there despite the centre’s dilapidated structure as they have no other place to go for health services.

Corper Olayemi was posted to the local government and he made up his mind to change the story of the people of the community. According to him, he sourced for funds from members of the community, Masters students of UNILORIN, and some companies in Ilorin which eventually led to giving the health centre a completely different look.
