Eligibility Criteria
For the 2024-2025 academic year, the following eligibility criteria must be met:
- Completion of the first year of PhD studies (at the time of application).
- Majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or related areas.
- Active engagement in research as part of the PhD thesis.
- Full-time enrolment as an active PhD student (not expected to graduate before May/June 2025).
- Availability for a summer internship (which may be held remotely due to COVID-19) before the Fellowship year.
- No immediate family connection to a current NVIDIA employee.
- Note: The award will be administered through the student’s university; the payment will be directed to the university, not the student.
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be meticulously evaluated on:
- Student quality and academic performance (GPA).
- Letters of recommendation and academic achievements.
- Research quality, results to date, and research proposal for the fellowship.
- Publication track record and relevance to NVIDIA, including the potential influence on future GPU designs.
Application Guidelines
The application process requires the submission of several essential documents, all handled through NVIDIA’s Submission Portal. Students must:
- Prepare Essential Documents:
- Research summary/thesis proposal (up to 2 pages, plus bibliography).
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV) including contact information.
- Professor nomination letters (2-3 letters, one must be from the thesis advisor/professor).
- Confirmation of summer internship availability.
- Use the Submission Portal:
- Complete the student profile (start early and revisit as needed).
- Upload research summary, thesis proposal, and resume (CV).
- Add contacts for recommendation letters (recommendation status must show “recommendation uploaded”).
- Communicate with recommenders to ensure timely upload of their letters.
- Submit Final Application:
- Ensure all items are complete.
- Submit prior to the deadline: 3 pm Pacific, September 7, 2023.
