NUC visits Ajayi Crowther University for resource assessment of new academic programmes

Nine teams comprising a total of twenty-eight members from the National Universities Commission (NUC) was at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo to conduct Resource Assessment of nine (9) new academic programmes the University wants to mount in the 2020/2021 academic session.

Members of the teams arrived at the University on Sunday, December 13, 2020 and conducted the exercise on Monday, December 14, 2020. The proposed new programmes are:

Agric. Animal and Crop Science

Agric. Agricultural Economics and Extension

Sc. Survey and Geo-informatics

Sc. Peace, Strategic Studies and Conflict Resolution

Sc. Entrepreneurship

M Law

Sc. Physiology

Sc. Medical Laboratory Science

Sc. Radiography and Radiation Sciences.

At the exit meeting held by each of the nine teams with the University Management which was at the end of the assessment in the evening of Monday, December 14, 2020, the University was generally commended by each of the teams for putting in place excellent arrangements for the commencement of the programmes.

The resource verification went on seamlessly in a very friendly atmosphere. The team on Survey and Geo-informatics was particularly pleased with the step taken by the University in collaborating with the Federal School of Surveying (located a stone-throw from the University) by way of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Some of the teams, however, drew the attention of the University Management to some areas that need to be improved upon, which the University Management promised to attend to promptly.

In all, Management was satisfied with the reports of the teams and expressed high hopes of securing the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) to mount the nine programmes.
