The National Universities Commission, NUC has disclosed that it has approved only Four (4) universities to run online undergraduate degree programmes in Nigeria.
This information was disclosed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, National Universities Commission, NUC , Ibrahim Yakasai.
He further warned that any other online degrees certificate is not accepted in Nigeria except then ones obtained from any of these four universities that has been approved.

List of Approved Universities In Nigeria For Online Undergraduate Degrees
For the avoidance of doubt, the universities mentioned below has been approved by National Universities Commission, NUC as the pilot universities to run the e-learning or online programmes in Nigeria. The universities are;
1. University of Uyo (UNIUYO)
2. National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN)
3. Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUSOK)
4. University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID)
Prospective students who wish to run the online degree programme can select any of the following undergraduate courses ; economics, banking and finance, accounting, business administration and marketing for which they have the needed qualifications.
However, at the moment, the online degree programme is available for candidates who wish to obtain BSc Degree in Economics
NUC had earlier blacklisted about 57 illegal universities in Nigeria, for being unapproved by the commission to run online degree programmes. Some of them had affiliation with some foreign universities.
