NOU Admission Requirements For DE Candidates

Below are the  NOU admission requirements for 200 level.

i) NOU requires National Diploma at Upper Credit from recognized institutions.

ii) National Certificate  in  Education (NCE) in subject(s) relevant to the proposed programme of study with a minimum of one merit and two passes.

iii) International Baccalaureates, Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) with at least two ‘A’ Level papers in relevant subjects and pre-requisite number of ‘O’Level credit passes.

iv) DE candidates seeking admission into the National Open University of Nigeria should note that JAMB or UTME Form IS NOT REQUIRED for gaining admission. All that is needed is for candidate or applicants to look out for when NOUN Admission Form is out on sale and purchase it.

v) In addition to the above, you will be required to sit for an internal exam or submit your O’level documents for screening upon successful registration of NOUN admission form online and if successful, such candidate will be notified when the admission list is released.

NOTE: Combination of results are allowed by the university but the year written on both must not be 2 years apart.

All NOUN candidates are advised to adhere strictly to the requirements below;

a) Generally, the requirements for getting admission into the National Open University of Nigeria include five (5) credits in the SSCE/GCE O’Level/NECO/NABTEB or equivalents at not more than two sittings obtained in subjects relevant to the proposed field(s) of study. The five (5) credits include Credit, English and 3 other relevant subjects.

b) Secondly, candidates eeking admission into the National Open University of Nigeria should note that JAMB or UTME Form IS NOT REQUIRED for gaining admission. All that is needed is for candidate or applicants to look out for when NOUN Admission Form is out on sale and purchase it.
