No threat will make us suspend strike – KASU ASUU replies school management

The Kaduna State University chapter of ASUU, has again, dismissed threats made by the management of the university over facing sanctions should the striking lecturers fail to suspend the ongoing strike and resume academic activities.

Dr. Peter Adamu, the branch chairman of ASUU, during an interview with newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday, September 6, stated that the strike was legitimate and backed by national and international laws, hence no amount of threats will make them suspend it.

He maintained that the strike has not been suspended, and they are committed to seeing it to the end while urging the Kaduna state government, students, and the entire university community to see the strike as a benefit for all aimed at saving public institutions in Nigeria from total collapse.

Recall that the school management in a memo issued on Monday, September 5, directed its lecturers to resume work or face sanctions. The institution warned that it would be forced to invoke Section 2(2) of the Staff Conditions of Service if the lecturers failed the comply with the directives of resumption.
