NLYM Threatens To Shut Down Lasu Main Campus, Ojo!

A group of Lagos youths today threatened to shut down the Lagos state university main campus located in the Ojo area of the state. The group which held a peaceful protest in the early hours of yesterday to protest against what they called "social segregation and and lack of respect for human rights" in the institution identified its self as the "New Lagos Youths Movement".

The publicity secretary of the group,Mr.Ayodele Benard who briefed news men after the protest said, "We the youths of Lagos can no longer continue to fold our hands and watch the Lagos state government and the management of LASU continue to deprive us of our right to education.

An average LASU student now pays between N190,000 to N300,000 per session and this far from what is obtainable in other government universities in Nigeria!".

Another member of the group who described herself as Okoye Stella said she could not continue with her education as a result of the price hike in LASU tuition fee and pleaded on the Fashola-led government to come to the aid of the masses. It would be recalled that the group had been meeting Yaba since its inception in January.
