Nigerians have aired their displeasure over the poor state of a lodge corps members who are serving in Asaba, the Delta state capital, were given for accommodation after Human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, shared a video showing the living conditions of the corps members.
In the video, the mattresses used by the corps members were littered outside the bungalow that serves as the lodge, with mosquito nets placed above each mattress. Another video showed a shabby-looking room that both male and female corps members were made to share.
Harrison stated that the state government has built a new lodge for corps members, but it has not yet opened for use. He called on the state government to open the lodge so the NYSC members can live in a decent environment.
After videos of the lodge were shared online, unimpressed Nigerians took to the comment section to condemn the state government for the poor living condition of the corps members.
