Meet Olawunmi Bayode, a Nigerian who is striving to set a new record “The Longest Reading Marathon" (Read Aloud) in the Guinness World Records.
He began the journey to his achievement on Monday, 26th February, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the You Read Library, Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba, Lagos. The record is still counting currently. He is to read for 120 hours at a stretch with only two hours (2hr) break every 24 hours.
Olabode has said his biggest aim is to remind the youths that education is the bedrock of development and also to let the whole world know that Nigeria is great and has Libraries. Lol
He has been excited about his journey so far, and has always kept his audience updated on his twitter page as he post photos and tweets, assuring his followers that he is in safe hands. He said, policem officers are around the venue to ensure his safety and there is a dedicated team of medical personnel from Lagos State who provides 24-hour Medicare and are alert for any medical emergency.
We hope he breaks this record and make us proud. Good luck!
