Nigerian Army School of PR Graduates 70 Students

Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information graduates 70 students. Graduates charged to always manage information positively with the aim of being good ambassadors of the military.

Purveyors of information have been told to properly and objectively present them in order to have positive impact on the receivers.

The Director, Nigerian Army Chaplain Services, Catholic, Col. Charles Iroegbu, made the call in Bonny Camp, Lagos, on Friday.

Iroegbu spoke during the Graduation of 70 students of Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information.

He said information was powerful tool that could make or mar a society.

According to him, the school has trained the graduating students to project the image of the military to the outside world.

“The training acquired is meant to equip you with skills on information management because information is a powerful tool for national development,” he said.

He charged them to always manage information positively with the aim of being good ambassadors of the military.

The commandant, NASPRI, Col. John Agim, urged the graduates to hold on to the spirit of studying beyond the purpose of examination.

He said they should always put on good relationship while in and out of uniform/in social life.

“Your behavior as image makers both in and out of uniform/in your social lives should project the good image of the military.

“As I told you earlier at the beginning of the course, you can only succeed in the programme if you shut down on social lives and concentrate more on your academics,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Lance Corporal Momodu Dada, emerged best in news reporting and best overall student.

The best student in video operations was Lance Corporal Mohammed Jibrin while the best behaved graduating student award went to a female from the Air force, Corporal Shaba Aminat.

The four months course on news reporting and video operations which commenced in April had students drawn from the Nigerian Army (63), Air force (3) and the Nigerian Navy (4). (NAN)
