The New Zealand government is offering a fully-funded scholarship to international students. This scholarship is available for both long-term courses and short-term research courses for applicants who are seeking to learn skills or complete a thesis. It is also available for Bachelors, Masters and PhD students or applicants.
The countries eligible for this scholarship are Palau, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Solomon Island, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, Micronesia, Marshall Island, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Fiji, Cooks Island and Niue.

- Visa is fully paid by the institution you applied for.
- Medical bills, which would be covered by your institution.
- Living allowance of NZD 491 weekly.
- Establishment allowance of NZD 3000.
- Study materials will be provided by the institution you applied for.
- Postgraduate awardees will be provided with research and thesis cost.
- Travel tickets will be fully funded.
- Fully funded tuition fees.
Be informed that applicants would be told to pay for visa application and medical check-ups which would be refunded as soon as you arrive in New Zealand. You are expected to keep receipts as evidence of payment to ensure that you are refunded in full all you spent that your institution was supposed to cover.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The following are expected to be provided by applicants while applying for this scholarship program:
- Applicants are advised to get a student visa. Due to covid-19, New Zealand Immigration is not receiving new visa application.
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- A copy of your passport which shows your picture, and personal information (e.g. name, age etc.).
- Postgraduate students are required to provide work experience. A minimum of one year experience for a full-time job, and a minimum of two years experience for a part-time job.
- Applicants must provide academic transcripts and tertiary certificates.
- PhD applicants must provide evidence that they have secured a supervisor in New Zealand. So they are advised to seek potential supervisors in New Zealand before showing up for the interview when they are considered for the scholarship.
- Applicants must provide the grading scale of their previous educational institution.
- If the applicant’s documents are not in English, the applicant is required to provide a translated copy.
- Applicants must provide verified copies of their birth certificate, passport and national identification card.
- Applicant must provide English test scores.
- Applicants must provide a letter of place from a university or education institute.

The process of application differs from country to country. All eligible applicants should apply by visiting the website www.nzscholarships.govt.nz and first confirm their eligibility. After that, they are required to register for a New Zealand Scholarship account and set it up. Applications must be completed before the closing date; uncompleted applications would not be considered.
