NECO threatens to cancel candidates results over allegations of malpractice

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has vowed to cancel the entire results of candidates in the Fabian Kings and Queens International School, Kabala West, Kaduna, if allegations of malpractice levelled against the candidates, is true.

The examination body in a statement on Monday, December 7 reacted to an investigative report by Signature TV which allegedly uncovered cheating at the affected examination centre. NECO disclosed that an administrative committee has been set up to investigate the reported cases of malpractice in the Kaduna-based centre.

NECO’s Head, Information and Public Relations Division, Azeez Sani mentioned that the school will be de-recognised and officials involved would be prosecuted if the allegations of malpractice are discovered.

The examination council further remarked that the centre has been flagged, while the scripts of candidates who sat for exams at the venue are been scrutinised.
