The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2020/2021 National Common Entrance Examination results. Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, Godwill Obioma disclosed this while presenting the results to the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu on Monday, November 16 in Abuja.
Obioma further mentioned that the council has pegged the national cut off mark at 142. He also disclosed three students with the highest scores; Umeonyiagu Chinua Crucifixio from Anambra state with a score of 199, Onwuamanam Udochukwu from Enugu, who scored 198 and Salaam Mariam Aderemilekun from Lagos who scored 197 out of a total of 200 in the examination.
The NECO chair said a total of 70,580 candidates sat for the examination nationwide, out of which 24,416 candidates passed with a minimum score of 66.
Reacting to the report, Mallam Adamu ordered a thorough investigation on the absence of 16,713 candidates who were reported to have been prevented from showing up due to the EndSARS protests.
