The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, which will see NDA run postgraduate programs, specifically in engineering, for Bauchi Poly.
At the Signing Ceremony which took place at NDA Headquarters, Afaka Campus, the Commandant NDA, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade, said he was delighted with the new partnership between the two institutions, noting that it will mark the beginning of a very profitable and intellectually beneficial relationship between both institutions. He assured the delegates from Federal Polytechnic Bauchi that NDA is capable of surpassing their expectations, evident from reports of successes recorded by the Academy in previous partnerships with other institutions.

Also speaking at the event, the Director of Linkages and Collaboration of NDA, Prof AO Ahmed, made it clear that linkages, partnerships and collaborations are part of ingredients of a good academic environment. He noted that backed by vision of the current Commandant, the department has intensified it’s efforts in gaining key partnerships and collaborations leading to several letters of interest from notable institutions. He added that Federal Polytechnic Bauchi being one of them. He said the present MoU will provide a platform for an affiliation where NDA run postgraduate programs in engineering for the polytechnic. He added that NDA was chosen amongst other institutions because of its integrity and the fact that its Faculty of Engineering has been fully accredited by COREN and NUC.
The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Architect Sanusi Waziri Gumau, while speaking at the event, applauded the Commandant for his efforts towards the success of the partnership. He promised that his institution will work very hard to ensure that the partnership between her and NDA yields great dividends for the betterment of both institutions and the country at large.
