The President of the National Association of University Students (NAUS), Felix Ijegalu has condemned the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) refusal to accept the payment of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).
The Association, who described ASUU’s move as selfish, urged them to accommodate the payment system, stressing that it would help the Federal Government place a check on ghost workers payment and other irregularities.
Ijegalu encouraged the union to focus on addressing corruption which has plagued the nation’s institutions. He alleged that the Tertiary Education Fund (TEFTFUND) was being mismanaged by the management of various universities.
He further called on the lecturers to consider the students, who were at the receiving end of this strike action and come to a peaceful resolution with the Federal Government, so that they can resume duties.
