The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has embarked on an industrial action due to the controversies surrounding the IPPS platform. This was disclosed by the President of SSANU, comrade Samson Ugwoke, while addressing newsmen in Abuja at the end of its JAC meeting.
Comrade Samson Ugwoke noted that the leadership of the associations were under huge pressure by its superiors to embark on a strike action in solidarity with ASUU's stance on IPPS enrollment. The association accused the government of being irresponsible, and not doing enough to resolve the issue which have led the union to a point where a strike action have become inevitable.
They also berated the IPPS platform stating that since the enrollment of some of its members on the platform, it has been a case of ''from the frying pan into the fire''. The strike action would take effect from the date of resumption of work after the lifting of coronavirus lockdown.
