Nasarawa State Moves to Sack 1,251 Teachers

The Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) Mohammed Dan’azimi, has disclosed that the state government plans on disengaging teachers who do not posses the necessary teaching prerequisites.

He made the announcement while inaugurating a seven (7) man implementation committee to disengage the said teachers.

It was also revealed that a total of 1251 teachers are expected to be relieved of their duties, and would be expected to register with National Teachers Institute (NTI) and Collage of Education Akwanga to obtain the required teaching qualification.

He added that there will be no tolerance for dishonest practices, as no teacher will be allowed to teach in any primary school in the state without the necessary teaching qualifications.
