It all started the day I applied for Imo State University Post-UTME. The euphoria was there. I have to study doggedly to make sure I had a reasonable score. I registered for the exam and got a confirmation text from the school to show I'm duly registered.
I thought they cared about their aspirants...ummm still thinking, well I guess they do in disguise. Yeah, I think they care about your Post-UTME Fee.
We were given a date for the exam precisely and yes I had to transit all the way from Jericho to IMSU (figuratively).
On getting to the school, I noticed some kind of politics and incompetence among the staff. But was it late to change? So sad yes it was. I kept on believing hoping that things go well. My Faith was so strong it could melt down an iceberg. Yes it was.
Vidi vici vendi (I came I saw I conquered) yes that was my ringtone after the exam. Just as NAPOLEON once said "A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of coloured ribbon." The most dangerous moment comes with victory.
Yes, I fought hard to gain admission as a Law student but here I am after my victory. What set in was the tragedy of victory.
The prestigious Imo State University has lost its prestigious glory (I know am going to be criticized by many people).
A website is suppose too serve as a tool for social engineering in sense of information etc, but Imo State University's website is just a tool of decoration. But why won't It be when the company in charge of the school's website is in Enugu state. Don't ask me my source because it’s concrete.
Yes! The school ICT it’s just a place of deception nothing tangible goes on there.
Back to my story, somehow I got the news that the school won't be admitting Law student this year. I was like OMG this can't be.
For you to know the level of incompetence of the management of the school, find time to surf the NUC (Nigeria University Commission) website browse through the accreditation exercise of universities in Nigeria, you will see the last time Imo state University had a reasonable Law faculty was in 2005.
They got interim accreditation in the year 2012 down till date. If the management of the school were competent, they would have done something to make sure they get FULL accreditation before the due date giving by NUC. I guess they were resting on their oars.
Story cut short.....I'm writing JAMB this year not as a failure but as a victim of mismanagement.
Well life goes on....
