The Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) was founded in 1983 as a result of the interaction and commitment of some friends who love and appreciate classical music. These distinguished Nigerians included Mr. Akintola Williams, Mr. Louis Mbanefo, Chief Ayo Rosiji, Chief Rasheed Gbadamosi and Mrs. Francesca Emanuel.
In line with our twenty-third MUSON festival, applications are invited from young talented Nigerian musicians between the ages of 14 and 21.
Prizes to Be Won
- 1st Prize: N125,000
- 2nd Prize: N75,000
- 3rd Prize: N50,000
Important Information/Notice
- Successful applicants will be invited for a live performance of their entries before panel of adjudicators on “Monday; 2nd September, 2019.”
- Successful candidates from the above will be given a compulsory piece to go and learn plus a piece of their own choice within a given deadline of “Thursday; 5th September, 2019.”
- Finalists will emerge from each group on “Tuesday; 8th October 2019”. They have one week to prepare for the Youth Concert (The Grand Finale) on “Wednesday; 16th October 2019”.
- The Grand Finale is an open competition before a panel of 3 judges and live audience. Winners will emerge in each category for prices and certificates.
