Ejikeme Mmesoma a 2023 UTME candidates who has been accused of result forgery and banned from taking the JAMB exam for a period of 3 years has admitted that she was graded to have scored 249 by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and not 362. The candidate had earlier insisted that the document showing her purported 362 was printed from the JAMB website, claiming it is authentic.
According to her, It’s not my fault that I printed my result like that and they said that I forged my result. It’s not my fault. So, them banning it is not fair,”
Reacting to this, the JAMB registrar, Mr Oloyede, insisted that the document being displayed by Miss Mmesoma belongs to another candidate who sat the examination two years ago. He said: “If you scan the code, the candidate’s result will show. So I can say emphatically that the girl is parading a fake result. It is either she is being duped, or she is part of a syndicate manufacturing purported JAMB results.
JAMB has maintained that there are various syndicates engaging in the manufacturing of fake results. The JAMB boss said the stakes are high for the scammers, noting that they have been successfully scamming unsuspecting persons.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has asked JAMB to lift the three-year ban on Miss Ejikeme Mmesoma. The House equally resolved to probe JAMB facilities, with a view to averting an occurrence of such a situation in the future, and called for independent examiners to examine the candidate’s scripts to determine her actual score in the UTME. The committee is also to look into the issue of special centres for examinations in the country. Consequently, the House asked JAMB to halt further action on the issue, pending the conclusion and outcome of the investigation.
