Abosede Oyinlola, a 23-year-old final year student of Chemical Engineering Department, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), has emerged the winner of the 2020 independence day essay competition organised by the osun state government.
Oyinlola was declared winner of the competion on Thursday, October 1, after emerging overall best student amongst 756 other candidates who registered for the competion.
He was awarded a cash prize of N300,000, a laptop reportedly worth N700,000, documents of ownership of a plot of land, and a 100GB Airtel router.
The second prize was won by a student of Adeleke University, Ademuyi Stella, and went home with N150,000 cash prize, a mobile phone and some Airtel Gigabytes, while Adelu Serif, a 400-level student of Obafemi Awolowo University, was third and went home with N100,000 cash prize, a mobile phone and other prizes.
