MAN Oron Post-UTME 2020: Cut-off mark, Eligibility and Registration Details

MAN Oron Post-UTME form, cut-off mark, eligibility, application fee, deadline and registration details for the 2020/2021 Academic Session have been announced. Cut-off mark is 160 & 175 (depending on intended course of study). Application fee is N2000. Registration commences October 12th and ends November 20th.

Online registration for the Maritime Academy of Nigeria Post-UTME Screening Exercise for the admission into National Diploma (ND) programmes for the 2020/2021 Academic Year will commence from Monday, 12th October to Friday, 20th November 2020.
The duration of National Diploma (ND) programmes is two (2) years, divided into four (4) semesters. The following programmes are on offer:

  • Nautical Science
  • Marine Engineering
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Maritime Transport and Business Studies

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES
Candidates who made the Maritime Academy of Nigeria as their First(1st) Choice Institution in the 2020/2021 UTME and scored above the required cut-off Mark as stated below are eligible for screening.
ADMISSION AND SCREENING REQUIREMENTS
Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must have a functional and accessible electronic mail address (E-mail) and mobile phone number.
Candidates are required to possess the following:
1.    A minimum of 175 marks in the 2020/2021 UTME for:
a) Nautical Science
b) Marine Engineering and
c) Electrical/Electronic Engineering

2.    A minimum of 160 marks in the 2020/2021 UTME for Maritime Transport and Business Studies.

3.    A minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant O-level subjects obtained in not more than two sittings within the LAST FIVE YEARS.

4.    MUST have the correct JAMB subject combinations for each course of Interest.
O-LEVEL Subjects and JAMB Subjects Combination
A.   Nautical Science:          
Candidates must possess Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Geography
    • Physics
    • Any other relevant Science subject.

UTME Subject Combination:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Geography
    • Physics
       
      B. Marine Engineering
      Candidates must possess Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Any other relevant Science subject

UTME Subject Combination:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Chemistry
    • Physics  

C. Electrical/Electronic Engineering   
Candidates must possess Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Any other relevant Science subject

UTME Subject Combination:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Chemistry
    • Physics  

E. Maritime Transport and Business Studies           
Candidates must possess Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Economics,
    • Geography/Commerce
    • And either Government or Principles of Accounting.

UTME Subject Combination:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Economics
    • Geography/Commerce/Government/ Principles of Accounting,  

5. Physical and Medical Fitness
Due to the peculiar requirements of the Institution and the maritime industry as well as International Convention on Standard of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) 95 as amended in 2010 which mandates all seafarer to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigours/challenges of the cadetship training.
Candidate must undergo some medical test at any Government Hospital and upload their medical status on the application portal. The list of medical tests can be found on the application portal dashboard.

Candidate should print-out Application Medical Examination Form (Form M) from the application portal. This form should be duly completed and signed before upload on the portal.

6. Marital Status
Applicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the programme.
7. Age Limit
- Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Marine Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as at 20th November 2020.

Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as at 20th November 2020.
Screening Fee: N2,000.00

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
Eligible candidate should log on to the Academy website www.maritimeacademy.gov.ng and take the following steps:

  • Click on Admission – HND/ND Registration Portal
  • Login with UTME number as Username and Jamb Score as Password
  • Generate and Print the Payment Slip
  • Proceed to any of the banks listed on the application portal dashboard to make payment using eTranzact Payment Platform or pay online
  • Return to the Academy Portal to Complete the registration Form.
