Man arrested for lying against BSU vice-chancellor

A former Benue state local government chairmanship aspirant identified as Joshua Alabama Gwebe, has been arrested by the state police command after posting a derogatory story about the vice-chancellor of the Benue State University, Prof. Joe Tor Lorapuu.

Gwebe in a post shared on his Facebook page alleged that, an unidentified student was slapped by the vice-chancellor in the premise of the university, and the student eventually became mad after the slap.

His arrest was confirmed by a social media commenter Krayzietee Atu, stating that Gwebe has since apologized for the misleading and derogatory post.

The information and public relations officer of the university, T. Tser Vanger further released a statement debunking the story, while describing it as infuriating, libelous and injurious.
