Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda through the MasterCard Foundation is providing scholarship opportunities to young Africans who are economically disadvantaged to pursue undergraduate studies at the university.
Up to 256 scholarships will be awarded to national and international students applying to study in the university for 2017/2018 academic session in the following academic fields; Agriculture, Veterinary medicine, ICT, Health Sciences, Technology and Engineering, Law and Human rights and Business and Financial Management.
Young female students are advised to apply as 229 scholarship slots will be awarded to females and 27 to males.
Scholarship Value: Full scholarship
Duration of Scholarship: The scholarship lasts all through your undergraduate programme.
Who Can Apply?
-Must be citizens of an African country and from an economically disadvantaged background
-Must apply to study at Makerere university for the 2017/2018 academic session
-Should not be holders of any other scholarship
-Should not have completed any undergraduate or diploma programme
-The applicant should exhibit academic excellence in either Sciences or Arts with a minimum of 15 points for boys and 13 points for girls at UACE for Ugandans, and two principal passes in relevant subjects for international applicants. Those who studied sciences have an added advantage.
-The applicant must demonstrate leadership skills, commitment to social betterment and giving back to their communities.
