The Majekodunmi Descendants of North America is pleased to introduce the Majekodunmi Bursary Award, a scholarship program aimed at providing financial assistance to students from Ikereku, Abeokuta, Nigeria, pursuing higher education at accredited Nigerian universities or polytechnics.
Project Objective:
The primary aim of the Majekodunmi Bursary Award is to offer one-time financial support to deserving students from Ikereku, enabling them to pursue higher education at recognized Nigerian universities or polytechnics.
Majekodunmi Bursary Award Benefits:
- The scholarship funds are intended to partially cover tuition fees and essential study-related expenses such as textbooks and living allowances.
- The minimum amount granted is #100,000.00.
- These bursary awards can be applied towards undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
Available Programmes:
For the academic session 2024/25, the Majekodunmi Bursary Award is open for applications from accredited programs in Nigerian universities and polytechnics.
Participating Universities:
All students from public universities and polytechnics are eligible to apply, provided they hail from the Egba Oke-Ona, Abeokuta communities of Ago-Oko, Iberekodo, Idomopa, Ikereku, Ikija, Ilawo, Ijaye Kukudi, Ilugun, and Imala.
Majekodunmi Bursary Award Requirements:
To be eligible for the undergraduate and postgraduate Majekodunmi Bursary Award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled in accredited Nigerian universities or polytechnics with roots in Egba Oke-Ona, Abeokuta communities specified above.
- Must provide a recommendation letter from a notable person in these communities (mosque or church).
- Must demonstrate financial need.

When applying for the 2024 Majekodunmi Bursary Award, applicants must submit the following documents:
- Statement of financial need
- Proof of indigeneity in the specified communities
- Recommendation letter from a mosque or church in the community
Application Procedure:
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for consideration. Prospective students who meet the criteria should submit a concise summary detailing their financial requirements, career aspirations, and providing verifiable evidence of their roots in Ago-Oko, Iberekodo, Idomopa, Ikereku, Ikija, Ilawo, Ijaye Kukudi, Ilugun, and Imala.
