The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is renowned for its research, postgraduate studies and continuing education in public and global health.
Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.
The Planetary Health Fellowship is a joint venture between the Centre on Climate Change and Planetary Health at LSHTM and the Center for Innovation in Global Health and Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford University. The Fellowship will focus on planetary health, defined as “the health of human civilization and the state of the natural systems on which it depends”. Research topics would include the impacts of land use change, deforestation, urbanisation or climate change on human health, or the health implications of policies to address environmental changes.
This Fellow will also be part of the Peter Piot Fellowships for Global Health Innovation Programme, a new Programme named in honour of LSHTM’s former Director Peter Piot. All Peter Piot Fellows will be mentored by Professor Peter Piot.
