a) Upon completion of your Degree course in Fashion designing, you will be a certified Fashion designer with due recognition

b) In the course of studying the course, you obviously must have practiced with Industrial sewing machines and also experienced the art of sewing through the 1 year compulsory industrial attachments as mandated by the management of the institution.

c) Aside the technical know-how, you must have had theoretical knowledge about the job, as this would become handy in the course of carrying out your jobs for clients.

However, it is not enough to pack your items down to the school, candidates with aspiration for a certificate in Fashion Designing must meet the admission requirements for the course as seen below.

Admission Requirements For Studying Fashion Designing As A Course

a) Such candidate must have the following O’level subject combination such as Home Economics/Technical Drawing and any four of the following under-listed subjects:

History

Physics

Fine Art

Chemistry

Biology/Agricultural Science

Mathematics

Clothing and Textiles

Literature in English

English Language

Home Management.

Please note that a minimum of Credit pass in English Language is a compulsory requirement

b) Applicant must pass the respective polytechnic’s minimum cut off mark in order to be eligible for admission.

c) Applicant must have a minimum of 5 credit pass in their OLevel which must include Mathematics and English Language.

Upon meeting the admission requirements above, you become automatically eligible for admission, however, you will still be required to undergo further screening process as mandated by the polytechnic.

That is, students can now graduate with a university degree in Fashion Designing from the University of Abuja. For now they remain the only university in Nigeria that offers Fashion Designing.
