List Of Postgraduate Courses Offered In UNIMAID, Admission Requirements & Duration

The management of University of Maiduguri has released the list of PG (postgraduate) courses offered in UNIMAID, it would be worthy to note that all PG programmes comes with their various admission requirements so it is left to the student to select from the list of UNIMAID PG courses available outlined below, the course that suits his or her career path.

You can visit University of Maiduguri postgraduate (PG) website to read more about the admission requirements for each course but for the sake of clarity purpose, we will be focusing strictly on the admission requirements and the list of all PG programmes that are available in the University of Maiduguri, though you could still check out the current UNIAMD postgraduate school fees as this would also be a requirement in sustaining your stay upon gaining admission into the school.

UNIMAID POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

For every PG programme or departments, there are specific entry admission requirements candidates must meet in order to be qualified. Here UNIMAID has put down the following admission requirement candidates are to adhere to during their respective applications;

First and foremost, candidates for admission into Ph.D programmes must have MA, MEd, M. Sc., M.Eng. or LL.M Degrees in the relevant areas with CGPA of at least  4.00 on a scale of 0.00 to 5.00 from University of Maiduguri or any other recognized university.

Secondly, candidates for admission into MA, MEd., M. Sc. (Ed), MLS, M.Sc., M.Eng. and L.L.M. programmes must have obtained the following:

  • First Class, Second Class Upper or Second Class Lower Degree from University of Maiduguri or any other recognized University.
  • A Third Class Degree holder must have a good Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant areas from University of Maiduguri or any other recognized University.

Thirdly, Candidate for admission into MBA. MHPM and MASS must have obtained the following;

  • A good Second Class Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management Sociology and Anthropology, History, Economics from University of Maiduguri or any other recognized University.
  • A Third Class Degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit plus a Postgraduate Diploma with a minimum of merit in the relevant areas from University of Maiduguri or any other recognized University.

Fourthly, Candidate for admission into MBA, MHPM and MASS must have obtained prior to applying for UNIMAID PG school the following;

  • A good Second Class Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management Sociology and Anthropology, History, Economics from University of Maiduguri or any other recognized University in Nigeria.
  • A Third Class Degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit plus a Postgraduate Diploma with a minimum of merit in the relevant areas from University of Maiduguri or any other recognized University.

Lastly, prospective candidates for admission into PGDM, PGDE, PGDNSS and PGDA shall possess a Degree in any Discipline from University of Maiduguri or any other recognized University or HND with a minimum certification of Lower Credit obtained from recognized institutions.

TRANSFER OF STUDENTS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS

A student who transfers from one programme to another or from another University may be credited with those course credit units earned which are relevant to the curriculum of the new programme.
