Nigeria, like any other country in the world, has its own set of government agencies. It has over 60 different departments and agencies that are assigned to different areas of responsibility. These include the Ministry of Health, Agriculture and Livestock Department, National Population Commission among others. This article lists all these Government Agencies with their heads for your convenience.

Agencies in Nigeria work in unison to drive the government forward. A working government is one that has active heads. The head of every government agency is the minister while the head of every department in any government agency is called the Permanent Secretary. They are held responsible for smooth running of various departments.   • National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) – Develop, implement, deploy and manage the technologies associated with Nigeria’s national identification card program known as e-ID cards.
