University of Benin makes it compulsory for candidates who passed their post UTME screening test and have their names on the UNIBEN admission list to physically come immediately for clearance & registration exercise. This exercise requires the physical and online submission of original and photocopies documents for your clearance to be deemed complete in UNIBEN.

Is age declaration or birth certificate needed for screening? | In UNIBEN, age declaration or birth certificate is highly important. You can use either of both. |
What is the difference between screening and clearance? | Screening is done before admission is given, it requires ensuring you are eligible to participate in the UNIBEN post UTME exercise. While clearance is done after you have been given a provisional admission by UNIBEN. It involves submitting and uploading your original documents online (UNIBEN Portal). |

List of Documents Required for Clearance in UNIBEN
- Birth Certificate or Age declaration
- WAEC or NECO/NABTEB result:- Statement of result or certificate
(Certificates are expected from 2019 and below for WAEC, and 2017 and below for NECO, NABTEB) - Scratch Card(s) to enable access to the above uploaded results NECO; WAEC; NABTEB: etc should be uploaded to enable confirmation of same.
- Local Government of origin Certificate or Affidavit of Local Government Area of origin
- JAMB result slip with passport
- JAMB admission letter (Institution copy)
- Acceptance letter
- Guarantor’ s letter
- Affidavit of Good Conduct
- Affidavit of Non-Membership of secret cult
- A RED BACKGROUND PASSPORT AT THE SIDE OF THE JAMB BIOMETRIC PICTURE
Having provided the above documents and uploaded to UNIBEN portal, you can then start with other registrations like course registration, apply for hostel accommodation (optional), pay your faculty and departmental dues and so on.
