The Women for Africa Foundation Learn Africa Scholarship Programme is now accepting applications for its 2024 cycle. This prestigious initiative, a flagship programme of the Women for Africa Foundation, celebrates over a decade of facilitating postgraduate education for female students from Africa. Having supported approximately 350 students from 35 different African countries, the programme proudly continues its mission. Many alumni have not only completed their studies in Spain or Morocco but have also successfully integrated into the labour market back home or pursued doctoral studies.

Scholarship Programme Overview

This year, the Women for Africa Foundation has significantly increased the number of doctoral scholarships, marking 2024 as a record year. Moreover, the focus remains strong on promoting STEM subjects, incorporating cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, food safety, and sustainable construction.

For this edition, 76 new scholarships and 22 continuity scholarships are available. This has been made possible thanks to the unwavering support of over 50 collaborators, including universities, business schools, and private funders such as GMV, ASISA Foundation, and ANESVAD Foundation.

Scholarship Details

The Learn Africa Scholarship Programme offers two types of scholarships:

  • Online scholarships, which cover only the tuition fees.
  • Face-to-face scholarships, which provide comprehensive support covering:
    • Tuition fees
    • Round-trip travel expenses
    • Accommodation and meals, either in a University Hall or through a monthly allowance
    • Health insurance

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a woman with nationality and residence in an African country.
  • Be enrolled in an African university or possess a university degree issued in an African country. For postgraduate scholarships, a Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Meet the specific requirements of the scholarship for which you are applying.
  • Note that only one application per person will be accepted.
