The Senate of Lagos State University has today, Monday, 27th January 2025, elected Professor Oseni Taiwo AFISI as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of the University.
The election saw Prof. Afisi defeat the Director, LASU Museum and Chairman, LASU IIVC, Prof. Maruf Suraqat ANIMASHAUN by 198 to 2 votes to emerge winner.
Prof. Afisi, a professor of philosophy, will succeed Prof. Olufunsho Abayomi Omobitan, whose tenure will end on Wednesday, 29th January 2025. Prof. Afisi will assume office on Thursday, 30th January 2025.
