LASU diploma programmes now fully digitalized

With the successful digitalisation of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the University, the Directorate of ICT, in partnership with the LASU Consult has commenced the digitalisation of the Diploma Programme.

The digitalisation process was mooted with training, this afternoon, of Deans, Heads of Departments and Coordinator of Sub-Degree (Diploma) Programmes in the University. The training, which served to familiarise them with the Online Platform was held at the Senate Chambers, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, Main Campus, Ojo.

Declaring the programme open, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Wahab Elias, said that digitalisation of the University's processes and programmes must be accompanied by training of those who will operate the systems: "What is obtainable in the developed world now is that with digitalisation, students can get their certificates/documents without having to go through couriers services. Our aim is to go fully digital and we cannot achieve that without training those who will operate the systems, the human ware. There are many problems associated with manual work, which digitalisation will eliminate.

"I commend the ICT for their creativity and promptness. They are one of the reasons LASU is working. It would interest you that the online clearance of admitted undergraduate students is going well. In ten days since the clearance started, we have successfully cleared over 3500 students."

The Diploma portal features tuition fee payment verification, printable course form, self-printable exam slip, exam slip verification, access to course registration records, amongst others.

According to the Acting Director, ICT, Dr. Toyin Enikuomehin, the Platform is now live and will be fully effective from the 2021/2022 academic session.

The LASU Diploma Programme is a 2year sub-degree programme run by several departments in the University and managed by the LASU Consult Limited.
