LASU Best Graduating Student Wrote JAMB 7 Times

One pregnant Mrs Elizabeth Orefuwa from Lagos state, who also emerged as the best graduating student in the Lagos State University, has narrated how she wrote UTME 7 times before gaining admission.

The 29 year old Orefuwa graduated from the department of Accounting Education with a total CGPA of 4.74.

She made this known during the institution’s 21st convocation on Wednesday in Lagos, stating that the journey through the institution did not come easy but with determination and motivation, she had success a story to tell.

She also narrated how she stated a professional career in the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) in 2007 where she became qualified as an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 2010.

She added that she never gave up despite the challenges, that her only aim was to get her first degree certificate after several years of waiting and to satisfy her dad, who has been insisting on academic certificate before professional certificate.

She further stated that she got married in her final and it did not in anyway distract her, rather her husband was supportive.

She said what kept her going was self-belief, focus and determination bearing in mind that she is in no competition with anyone but with her own capabilities.
