Lagos state govt upgrades AOCOED to a university

The Lagos State Government has announced the upgrade of the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education to a University of Education following the passage of a bill to that effect by the state House of Assembly.

The school will now be called the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) according to a statement signed by the chairman, House Committee on Education (Tertiary Institutions), Hon. Ajani Owolabi.

Recall that in May 2021, the house during its plenary session had disclosed that the state would be upgrading the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, and Sir Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education, Epe, to universities of education.

According to the statement, the University will operate a Multi-Campus system with the Main Campus in Adenran Ogunsanya, Otto/Ijanikin and its Annex at Micheal Otedola, Noforija, Epe, and any other locations as may be determined by the Visitors or Council from time to time.
