KWASU Expels 175 Students for Various Offences

The Kwara State University (KWASU) in Malete, located in the Moro local government area, has taken a strong stance against indiscipline by expelling 175 students for violating the institution’s rules and regulations.

Reason for Expulsion

In a statement released by the Acting Director of University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, it was made clear that these students were expelled for various offences that contravened the university’s standards.

“The university’s management wishes to inform the public that the following 175 students have been expelled for various offences,” the statement read.

Offences Committed

The expelled students faced penalties for offences including:

  • Examination malpractice
  • Theft
  • Using fake results to gain admission
  • Assault
  • Fraud
  • Belonging to unregistered associations
  • Possession of firearms

Disciplinary Process

The decision to expel these students was based on the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC), which held sittings from October 2021 to March 2024.

University’s Stance

The management of KWASU emphasised its zero tolerance for all acts of indiscipline. The institution is committed to producing graduates who excel both in character and learning.
