KWARAPOLY Receives Accreditation For 31 ND/HND Courses

The Kwara State Polytechnic, KWARAPOLY has received the accreditation of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to offer 31 academic programmes.

This was made known by the Rector of the polytechnic, Alhaji Mas’ud Elelu while speaking with newsmen at Ilorin.

According to him, all the courses submitted by the polytechnic to NBTE were accredited.

He stated that the management of the polytechnic will do its best to ensure that the accreditation of the courses is maintained while it will equally put effort to introduce new courses.

He mentioned that at the moment, the polytechnic is currently running 60 science-based courses; comprising 55  old ones, and five new ones.

He disclosed that the accredited courses under National Diploma comprise  the following National Diploma in Mineral Resources and Petroleum Engineering Technology, Quantity Surveying, Metallurgy, Architectural Technology, Building Technology, Leisure and Tourism Management.

Others are Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Office Technology Management, Estate Management, Urban and Regional Planning, Electrical/ Electronic Engineering Technology and Statistics.

It was learnt that NBTE also accredited the following Higher National Diploma courses; Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Office Technology Management and Building Technology for the polytechnic. The board also gave its approval to the polytechnic to run HND in: Survey and Geo-informatics, Science Laboratory Technology, Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology, Electrical/ Electronic Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology.
