Kwara Poly debunks alleged death of students during an exam

The attention of the Polytechnic Authority has been drawn to the rumour going round that some students of the institution died while struggling to enter the examination hall for the CBT examination.

The Authority of the institution wishes to state categorically that the rumour is baseless and untrue.

Students scheduled for morning papers are supposed to be in school for the examination, however, those scheduled for afternoon and evening also came at the same time which made it rowdy.

This led to a stampede and some students were injured. The CBT examination was stopped immediately and the medical team of the Polytechnic responded in good time, students affected were taken to the school medical centre. As at the time of filing this report, eight of the students have been discharged from the clinic. The remaining four students are in stable condition and will be discharged soon.

The Polytechnic Management want to put it on record that the situation has been put under control and examination postponed till further notice. The Authority also wish to state that the institution has proceeded on semester break.

The Management also enjoined the Polytechnic students to be law-abiding and be good ambassadors of the institution at all time.
