Kwara poly set to partner research institute on lecturers' training

The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin has said it will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO) on the training of lecturers.

The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Abdul-Jimoh Mohammed remarked that the MoU is to enhance lecturers knowledge on how to conduct research relevant to the country’s industrial and technological growth.

He further disclosed that the management of the polytechnic plans to establish Kwarapoly Microfinance Bank to increase the internally generated revenue of the school.

Speaking on the stoppage of subvention to the school by the state government since 2015, Dr Mohammed said that efforts are being made to convince the government to restore the payment of subvention to its educational institutions.
