Kano State sponsors 50 students to study in Niger Republic

Kano State Government is set to spend the sum of N107 million to sponsor not less than 50 students to study in Niger Republic under its exchange programme.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner of Education, Muhammad Sanusi Kiru during the distribution of instructional materials to primary and junior secondary schools in the state.

The Commissioner, who stressed that the screening of the students was based on merit, said that recipients were selected from the 44 LGAs across the state to study in Kano/Niamey Bilingual College in Niger Republic.

Speaking during the flag-off of the distribution, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje restated the commitment of the government in ensuring education for all school-aged children in the state. He added that a contract of N3billion has been awarded for the renovation and construction of classrooms across the 44 LGAs.
