Kano approves N32m for NECO, NBAIS registration of disabled, indigent candidates

The Kano State Government has approved the release of N32,429,000 to the Ministry of Education for registration of disabled indigent candidates in the National Examination Council (NECO), National Board for Arabic and Islamic Schools (NBAIS), and West African Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSCE) Examinations.

This was contained in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba. He said the approval was considered at the State Executive Council meeting after due consideration.

The approval includes N11,000 per head for 2,595 verified candidates writing NECO amounting to N28,545,000, while N1,805, 000 would be spent at the rate of N9, 500.00 per candidate for NBAIS examination.  

He also revealed that the council approved N21, 384,000 for the bulk purchase of 11, 880 copies of textbooks entitled: “Comprehensive Animal Husbandry and Fisheries for Senior Secondary Schools,” to encourage agricultural study and animal/fish production in the state.
