JAMB To End ‘Regularisation’

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has urged all degree- awarding institutions in Nigeria to adhere strictly to admission rules and regulation so as to stop the regime of “admissions regularization”.
JAMB registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, made this disclosure while speaking with Daily Trust recently in Abuja. He called for a the need to fine tune the process of admissions during the conduct of the Computer Based Test (CBT).
The registrar said the board had reached agreement at a meeting with the Committee of Vice-Chancellors to have schools submit a list of matriculating students—detailing course of study, institution and matriculation number—without delay.
Vice chancellors were long expected to submit their final list of matriculated students to the board, and Ojerinde insisted having institutions comply with the decision would strengthen the education system.
