The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that the 2018 policy meeting in which the official cut-off mark and other guidelines for 2018/2019 admission exercise will be decided will hold on June 26th, 2018.
This includes both for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and DE.
Dr Fabian while announcing this, frowned at the some institutions that breached the constitutional guidelines for the admission process by announcing their post-UTME and admission forms even when JAMB has not held the policy meeting.
He mentioned emphatically that no institution is allowed to publish adverts for admissions into their schools until after the policy meeting as the policy meeting is the only authorised body that approves admission process for every preceding year.
It is in the meeting that at the meeting, all proceedings, rules and regulations guiding the admissions are discussed and approved by all stakeholders.
According to him, a list of institutions that have already announced their post-UTME and admission form before the policy meeting are being compiled and will be forwarded to the appropriate body for sanction.
Mr Benjamin added that in view of the above, those who intend to make admission adverts before the slated meeting, are urged to have a rethink and halt.
He also noted that the 2018 policy meeting of the education sector was coming early to allow institutions begin early admission. All UTME candidates are to await the announcement of the JAMB Official Cut-off Mark for 2018 on June 26th.
