JAMB Exempts Prisoners, Deaf, Blind and Foreign Candidates From Writing Post-UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) during the 2018 JAMB Policy, revealed the category of candidates that are not supposed to partcipate in the Post-UTME Screening exercise.

According to the JAMB Registrar, Candidates who took the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in foreign countries, Candidates who took the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in prisons and finally, blind and deaf candidates should be exempted from writing Post-UTME.

He noted a particular incident last year that a candidate from Ghana was not admitted into University of Ibadan because she did not sit for the Post-UTME Screening of the school.

He mentioned that concerning 2018 Admission exercise, the board and the tertiary institutions are to ensure that this category of candidates, who meet minimum requirements, are admitted, and their progress monitored in the various institutions for the purpose of confirmation of the effectiveness of the policy.
